Short video and text modules that complement the in-person workshop. Use them to prepare before you attend, or to revisit concepts after the two days are done.
Each module is between 15 and 45 minutes long. They combine short narrated video with text summaries, a few diagrams and a short self-check quiz. There is no live component. You work through them at whatever pace suits you and you can return to any section as many times as you need.
Modules marked as preparatory are most useful before attending the workshop. They introduce vocabulary and context so that the hands-on sessions can move faster. Post-workshop modules extend topics that the two-day format cannot cover fully.
These modules introduce the conceptual foundations. Completing them before attending means you spend less time on theory during the in-person sessions and more time on practice.
An introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum, why plants reflect near-infrared differently from visible light, and why that difference is useful for detecting stress. No physics background required.
A short agronomic foundation explaining soil water potential, field capacity, wilting point, and how different soil textures hold and release moisture. Provides context for the sensor sessions.
The difference between standard GPS accuracy and GNSS with correction signals. What RTK and SBAS mean, why a few centimetres of positioning error matter when spreading fertiliser, and what equipment currently achieves.
A walkthrough of downloading and installing both applications on Windows and macOS. Follow along before the workshop so you arrive with working installations. Troubleshooting notes for the most common problems are included.
These modules extend and reinforce what was covered in the in-person sessions. They are most useful in the weeks after attending, when you are beginning to apply the tools to your own farm.
A step-by-step walkthrough using sample data from a Polish cereal field. Covers importing drone imagery, creating management zones, combining with soil sample data, and exporting a prescription shapefile compatible with common ISOBUS terminals.
Working with exported CSV data from common capacitance sensors. Plotting soil water content over time, identifying refill events, and setting threshold-based alerts in a simple spreadsheet. Practical for farms that have recently installed sensors for the first time.
Deeper use of LiteFarm beyond the initial setup. Creating crop plans, logging field tasks, managing multiple fields across a rotation, and generating reports. Using the data you collected during the season to plan the next one.
How LoRaWAN connectivity works for agricultural sensor networks. Using low-cost nodes with community gateways or your own base station. A practical introduction for farms that want to scale beyond a single sensor to a field-wide network without a cellular subscription cost per node.
